Facebook

I love Facebook.  I know a lot of people who think it dangerous, too time consuming, prohibitive of real relationships, addictive and more.  It may be all those things. Yet I adore Facebook.  Because of Facebook, I am in touch with old friends from high school.  I see lots of family pictures and hear what people are thinking — at least what they’re thinking at that moment.  I’ve had a fascinating genetic journey connecting with my DNA cousins.  I can shoot a one-liner off to a friend that would otherwise require spending a long time on the phone. My dog is able to administrate her own page on Facebook.  On the flip side, I’ve had disappointments. My feelings have been a little hurt when I saw things posted that I expected would have been communicated to me personally.  Before I learned how to limit my audience, someone snooped on my page and said something unkind.  I have had random acquaintances ask to friend me and people that I thought were close, unfriend me without a backward glance. I have learned to cope, it’s just Facebook.  The disappointments don’t outweigh the fun.
