Freezer Foul

A woman in line behind me at the grocery store yesterday had an armful of ice cream products. I made a special trip to Target last week to redeem my coupon for a deal on three cartons of Ben and Jerry’s — but this woman looked like she was stocking up on ice cream for the multitudes.  “My husband left the freezer door partly open,” she explained as she filled the conveyor belt with her load, “and all my ice cream treats melted. I’m declaring an official Freezer Foul,” she turned and announced cheerfully to all of us in the checkout line.  We agreed that due to the extremely hot summer we’ve had with temperatures actually as high as 108 degrees, her husband’s freezer infraction might actually constitute legitimate grounds for divorce.

Agreed, it’s freakin’ hot out!! But divorce? Seems like a bit of an over-reaction to me. 🙂
