Sparkling Wine

Sometimes I like sparkling wine and I discovered at Costco of all places, a Kirkland version that I think is actually really good. I prefer a snack with it — cheese and some apple slices or cheese and some good wheat crackers or cheese and some crusty French bread.  All good combos, with cheese being the common denominator.  I’m usually particular about the cheese that I pair with it  — but the other night I decided to experiment with “alternative” forms of cheese.  It turns out that Cheezits and Cheetos don’t especially complement sparkling wine.

Plain old Kirkland brand Prosecco — made in Italy and specifically called Asolo Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. It has a purple label and only costs $7.99

Oh, Mary – thank you so much for this. I know you understand why I needed a laugh today, and this blog gave me a huge laugh. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
BTW, what was the name of the sparkling wine? I like sparkling wine, too, and we go to Costco pretty regularly.
