The Spiralizer

On a friend’s Facebook page the other day I saw wonderful things she was doing with a machine called the Spiralizer. The recipes that accompanied her posting looked amazing — long strands of beets, sweet potatoes, zucchini and all kinds of vegetables, made into amazing and delicious looking dishes — and even though I never deep fry, I was suddenly in love with the idea of homemade curly fries. I searched and found the gadget on Amazon — it was fairly inexpensive and I impulsively placed an order.  As soon as I hit the ‘submit’ button I remembered how strongly I feel about unnecessary and specialized kitchen gadgets and began to immediately suffer from buyer’s remorse. I could hardly wait for the Spiralizer to arrive so I could return it.

Oh, Mary, there’s that “impulse control” thing raising it’s ugly head again. LOLOLOL Isn’t buying stuff online cool? Can you imagine our parents reaction and opinion?

I too hate gadgets but I have been fascinated by this one. Sur la Table even sells it which I thought gave it legitimacy. I have not bought one yet but I will buy yours if you haven’t sent it back.

Oh man, it went back the day it got here. Now I’m having returner’s remorse.
