Mary Kunkel

Hi — I’m Mary Kunkel.  A few years ago, I said goodbye to 28 years of working full-time as a professional massage therapist.  Helping people heal was not only my calling, it was my vocation —  and I loved nearly every minute of it.  As strongly as I was drawn to the profession, I knew just as intensely that it was time to change direction. Many years ago, a client shook his head with concern and told me, “You are very lightly tethered to the earth.”  Not sure you meant that as a compliment but thank you, Art — your statement was the basis for this blog.

I can think of two things at a time. It makes my brain overly busy, way too full, and difficult to disengage yet I’ve decided it’s a talent worthy of admiration— not dissimilar to the Tibetan monks who are able to chant two tones at the same time. People pay admission to listen to these monks — I know this because I once did it myself. I understand that no one is going to pay to hear my two-at-the-same-time thoughts, even if they were visible or audible. Yet I have decided to recognize it as a talent. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop? He’ll never set up shopkeeping in my head.

This blog is my attempt to let some of those parallel thoughts go free. It’s either that or have my head explode. Link to blog page.
