Gardening

Every spring we get pumped up to have a vegetable garden.  We order seeds and buy starts, plant everything and rejoice as things germinate and grow.  However — both my husband and I dislike working outside in the heat and as the summer wears on, we neglect our garden.  Last year we forgot to dig the potatoes we had planted — and after the plants had died back, we had a heck of a time finding the potatoes when we remembered they were out there.  Last year I decided that a beautiful doe was welcome to graze on my squash and beans, never dreaming that she would decimate them all, as well as everything but the corn, which for some reason she ignored.  One year my husband with a weed whipper, nonchalantly breezed past foot high tomato plants that were still sitting in pots, waiting to be planted.  Zip.  They were reduced to an inch tall — and he never realized what he had done.  Gardening is sketchy business around here.  Might be a good idea for us to stick to the local Farmer’s Market for our produce.

DAMN! that is a total typo calling your blog “ours” I obviously meant “your”. Although in a way it is ours because your followers probably consider it part of their day. Whatever….. IT WAS A TYPO!!!

Hmmm that last comment from me said it posted at 5:43 p.m. It’s only 10:45 a.m. What time zone is our blog in? Or perhaps I am able to jump to the future.

I love your blog. I was putting your blog on my favorites bar so that it was always one click away. I needed to pick an icon. At first I was going to pick a daisy (no pun intended) but decided that maybe I was being influenced by todays offering. Instead I picked a fluffy cloud with the sun peeking out. It reminds me to be hopeful about each day and your blog is the perfect way tfor me to start my work day! Thanks Mary for sharing you lightly tethered to the earth musings!
