Magic Candy

On Valentine’s Day a couple of years ago my husband bought me a half pound of See’s chocolate covered caramels — he knows that I consider this the best candy of all time, hands down.  The supply dwindled and I couldn’t bring myself to scarf down the last two pieces until finally I couldn’t stand it any more.  I opened the box and to my surprise, there were four pieces left — I was delighted!  I figured I had miscalculated and once again ate it down to two.  When I next looked, there were SIX caramels in the box!  I eventually wised up and realized that my sweet trickster of a husband was secretly replenishing my supply before it ran out.  I don’t know when he sneaks down to the See’s store for more but he has continued to keep that box from being empty for the past couple of years.  Way better than loaves and fishes.
