Collywobbles
Collywobbles. Those fuzzball things that appear in corners, under beds or chairs, next to the desk. My mother called them collywobbles, though sometimes she referred to them as old men. At my childhood neighbor’s house they were muttons, and I think most people know them as dust bunnies. I swear they’re a product of spontaneous generation. I go to bed at night, nothing. I get up in the morning and there they are — every day in the same spot next to the bookshelf, even though I purged the area of them before going to bed. It’s a mystery and I want them gone.
Aliens leave them.
