A Branch? Or Maybe It’s a Frog

I have a friend who used to take long walks with me almost every week. Our favorite place was along the sidewalks and trails at the saltwater beach park a mile from where I live. There was an unusual tree next to the sidewalk and a lot of times he stopped to look at it more closely because he liked the interesting bark, especially on the long branch that hung out over the sidewalk. He loved photography and took lots of pictures of that tree. He moved away two months ago and I go on the beach walks by myself now but I pass that tree pretty often and I decided to take a photo to send. Here’s the problem. My friend is a native Spanish speaker and I was going to show off and try to impress him. When I sent the photo I wanted the caption in Spanish to say, “Look, it’s your favorite branch!” Branch in Spanish is rana. I was proud of myself. Except the word for branch in Spanish is similar to the word for frog, which is rama. So I did write in Spanish but my caption said, “Look, it’s your favorite frog!” Sigh. Not as impressive as I’d hoped.
