Abandonment Issues
I headed off to my regularly scheduled Spanish class last week and when I got there, there were people I didn’t recognize plus an interpreter signing in the front of the classroom. For a split second I imagined that the date had been changed or the class cancelled and no one had notified me. I immediately smacked myself upside the head and went down to talk with the building receptionist and get the scoop. The woman at the desk explained that there had been a scheduling error and that my class today was meeting in Room 103 instead of the usual place upstairs. I wonder why we — and I know I’m not the only one because the woman sitting next to me in class said she thought the same thing — sometimes jump to such crazy and unlikely conclusions.
