The Ice Cream Truck

I love it when I hear “It’s a Small World” jingling in the background because it means the ice cream truck is nearby.  I live close to a neighborhood that’s heavily populated with kids and sometimes the ice cream truck swings over to my more rural area.  When I was growing up I lived in a town way too small for something like an ice cream truck.  Even though I’ve lived in much bigger places since then, this is the first time I’ve been near any route for an ice cream truck at all and every time it comes near, I run out clutching my money. This year the driver, remembering me from last summer, said “Let’s see……ice cream bar, right?”  Correct.   I’m afraid if I don’t appear, she’ll stop going out of her way to come up this road and will stay in the more lucrative neighborhood down the hill.  Even if I’m not hungry for ice cream, I’m out there. I don’t want to lose visitation rights.

I feel the same way…the ice cream truck comes Monday nights around this neck of the woods!….I wonder, maybe it is only old folk who are the customers of ‘the ice cream truck’!
